Jessie Roselthia Mitchell was born May 11, 1885, and died March 13, 1905, aged 19 years, 10 months and 2 days. She leaves to mourn her departure a father, mother, four sisters and two brothers. Sister Myrtle residing at home, Mrs. F. G. Carmichael, of Fayette, Mrs. M. Sherbonda, of Volney, Mrs. M. A. Allen, of Sioux Falls, S.D., brother Joe, of Monona and George of Volney. Her life was short but beautiful, a life filled with noble and kindly deeds, ever faithful in the least of her duties, a fitting example of a true Christian life.
