Tommie, twenty-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farrell died at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Melary last Friday, Jan. 13, as the result of severe burns received when he fell backwards into a tub of scalding hot water. The fatal accident occurred Dec. 31st at the home of his parents.
Tommie was born May 20, 1931, on the Farrell farm. Besides the bereaved parents he is survived by three brothers, John Francis, Jimmie and Raymond and three sisters, Estella, Margaret and Agnes, the grand parents and a number of uncles and aunts.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at nine o'clock at St. Joseph's church and interment was made in St. Josephs' cemetery, the Rev. J.P. Taken officiating.
Casketbearers were classmates of the three brothers, as follows: Edward Farrell, Junior Frommelt, John Ehrhardt and Donald Welch. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Sr. M. Alphonsus and Sr. M. Veronica of Farley and Mrs. Wm. Ecker of West Union.
