Died - Mrs. Christine Krieg died Wednesday, Sept. 14th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rose Masters, in Dubuque, and was brought here Thursday. The funeral took place Saturday at the Musfelt cemetery, Rev. Hertel officiating. The deceased was born in Untergronigen, Oberamt Gemund, Wurtemberg, Oct. 12th, 1830. She was married to Jacob Krieg in 1848, Mr. Krieg dying in 1889. There were fourteen children, of which nine are living, namely: Fred, Gustave, Charles and Mrs. Mary Koehn, of this place; Wm. of Volga; Mrs. Mollie Witt, of Elkader; Mrs. Rose Masters, of Dubuque; Mrs. Ida Ochner, of Herman, Mo.; Mrs. Christine Roach, of Eagle Grove, Ia. In the year of 1857 they came to America and shortly afterwards located in Clayton county where they made their home. The deceased was a woman who was very active until several weeks ago, when she went to Dubuque for medical help. The children have lost a loving mother and this community a good and kind friend. Peace to her ashes.
