In Memorium - Mrs. Catherine Cassell
Beneath a low mound she is sleeping,
A white waxen babe on her breast,
But we who are left sad and weeping,
Find solace to know she's at rest.

How lonely the home and how saddened
Since she fled to the beautiful shore!
She, whom our young hearts often gladdened
Will welcome us now never more.

Hers is the gain, for beyond the dark river,
With wreaths of fair flowers in her hands,
She awaits in the blessed forever,
Where Jesus of Nazareth stands.

Mrs. Catherine Cassel. Born June 28, 1861, at Wilverhampton, Shaffordshire, Eng., daughter of Patrick and Catherine Roche.

When 20 years old she came with her parents to this country, living at Ashland, Wis.; March 17, 1883, at Ashland, she was united in marriage to Wm. Cassell. In the summer of 1896, they moved to North McGregor, where they have since resided.

Died Tuesday morning, Aug. 30th. The deceased was a faithful member of the Catholic church. She was a devoted wife and mother, caring for her family and rearing her children with christian guidance. She was the mother of eleven children, nine of whom survive her, and grieve o'er the irreparable loss that has befallen them.

About the saddest scene one could witness occurred just before the mother's remains were taken from the home where she had given lovingly and willingly her life's devotion, the mother's casket and a tiny white casket lay side-by-side, and the little children kneeling beside their mother's casket praying as the oft' had prayed at her knee.

Mrs. Cassell's death was an especially sad death, and as the home will know her ministering care no more, may God guide the sorrowing ones, and sustain them through the passing days.

The funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Mary's church, McGregor, Rev. Father O'Donnell officiating. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.

The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.

Mrs. Catherine Roch, and Mrs. W. Callahan of Carrodsz, Penn., mother and sister of the deceased, and Mrs. W. Hook, of Monmouth, Ill, Mr. Cassell's sister came to attend the last sad rites.
