Elkader Register, Thur., 11 Aug. 1904. Volga City Views column,

David William, the little son of Ed Bachtell, died Aug. 3rd, after an illness of over two weeks. He was a bright, lovable child six years of age and seemed a general favorite. Mr. Bachtell's have only recently moved here and this bereavement comes as a hard blow. Volga people respond most heartily to those in trouble and did all they could to lighten the burden in this instance. May the transplanting of this flower to the Heavenly Kingdom tend to draw the friends and neighbors to a realization of the world beyond. The funeral was held on Thursday last, Rev. Elwick officiating.
