The death of William Steward or Uncle Billy Steward, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. Grassmeyer, Tuesday morning after a short illness. He leaves four daughters, namely, Mrs. Hannah Grassmeyer, of this place, Mrs. Minnie Wheeler, and Mrs. Fannie Bigford, of Superior, and Mrs. Clara Getchel, of Galesburg, Ill., besides other relatives to mourn his death. Funeral services were held at the home at the home Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. O. C. DePuy. Mr. Steward is one of the oldest residents of this place and has been blind for a number of years. His friends are numerous and his enemies are few. He was always willing to do his part to anyone in need. His remains were laid to rest beside his wife who preceded him several years ago. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
