John Wentworth, one of the pioneer residents of Clayton county, died at Independence last Saturday. Deceased was at one time a resident of Garnavillo and was well known in Guttenberg. Of late years he and his wife have made their home on a farm a few miles south of Turkey River. His body was laid to rest in the Goshen cemetery Tuesday. Left to mourn his loss are a wife, three sons and a number of grandchildren.
