At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hans Nelson, at St. Olaf, on Monday evening Dec. 8th, 1902, occurred the death of Mrs. Lars Halverson, after an illness of the past fifteen months.
Marie Halverson was born in Norway, Feb. 2nd, 1824, and was marred to Lars Halverson, Jan. 24th, 1844. With her family she came to America June 14th, 1858, coming direct to Clayton county. Mr. Halverson died Dec. 9th, 1901, just about the same hour and minute of the wife, lacking one day of a year. The father and mother are survived by eight of the ten children born to them. These are: John, Mrs. Andrew Larson and Mrs. Evenson, at Miller, Ia., Mrs. Nettie Johnson at Forrest City, Ia., Mrs. Isabel Faber, of Read, Mrs. Hans Nelson and Gilbert, of St. Olaf, and Lars, Superintendent of the County Insane hospital at Elkader.
The funeral was held today at the home of Mrs. Nelson at St. Olaf, thence to the Norway church in Wagner twp. We deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.
