Elkader Register, Thur., 07 Aug. 1902. Guttenberg column.

Mrs. Andreas Fritchie died at her home here last Monday. The cause of death was cancer. Mrs. Fritchie was born in Hessen, Germany, Aug. 5, 1828. She came to this country some years later and became a resident of Guttenberg, the town at that time being in its infancy. She was married to Andreas Fritchie in 1853, and has resided here since that time. Burial took place today (Thursday), Rev. J. Janzig conducting the services.

Note: Gravestone in the Guttenberg City cemetery spells surname as FRITSCHE and the date of birth engraved on gravestone is 8/5/1830. Unknown if the obit or the gravestone gives correct date & it should be further verified.
