Elkader Register, Thur., 19 June 1902.

At his residence in Elkader, on Saturday, June 14th, 1902, P. J. Orr went to sleep in death, after a lingering illness with consumption. He was born in Highland twp., about thirty-eight years ago, where he resided until ill health compelled him to leave the farm and he came to town. On Feb. 28th, 1898, he was united in marriage with Miss Katie Roach, one child being born to them. Besides the wife and child, his father, Fredrick Orr, his sister, Mrs. J. L. Boland, of Highland; three brothers, John, of Canada; William, of Lyon county, Iowa; and Fred Jr., survive him. The deceased was a quiet, unassuming man, good citizen and a warm friend, one who will be missed by all who knew him

The funeral was held Monday at St. Joseph's church, Rev. J. F. Reilly officiating, assisted by Revs. Eardley and Campbell, of Volga City.
