Ella L. Kaiser was born Dec. 15, 1881, near National, Clayton County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Herman H. and Paulina Wirkler Kaiser. She was baptized on July 4, 1882, in Garnavillo. After the [illegible] instructions in the doctrine of her Church, she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church by the Rev. Johannes Graenning on oct. 18, 1896.

Together with her parents she moved to Monona in 1904. For many years she worked in the Monona Department Store.

On Dec. 12, 1926, she was united in Holy Wedlock with Harry J. Wiethorn of Monona.

For many years she was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran church of Monona & an active member of the Women's Organizations and served as President of the Ladies Aid.

In 1946 she moved to Yuma, Arizona with her family, and in 1954 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. After an illness of three years, she departed this life Nov. 1, 1966.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Harry J. Wiethorn, of Phoenix, Arizona, a son, Ronald Wiethorn, of Glendale, Arizona, a brother, Elmer Kaiser of the Lutheran Home in Muscatine, Iowa, and 2 grandchildren, Stacey & Brandon Wiethorn of Glendale, Arizona.

She attained the age of 84 years, 10 months and 16 days. Funeral services were held Mon., Nov. 7, at 2:00 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Monona, with Rev. Fred F. Darnauer officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Roger Halvorson, soloist, and congregational singing. Mrs. George Heins was organist. Pallbearers were Ray Wiethorn, Gilbert Wiethorn, Everett Drahn, Wilbert Wiethorn, Eldo Wiethorn, and Hale Corlett, Jr.

Burial was in Monona City Cemetery.
