—Sophia Everall died at the advanced age of 98 years at Farmersburg, Clayton Co., on the 17th inst. She was an English woman and came to America in 1850.
Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in the National Cemetery shows she died Jan. 19, 1895.

Sophia Everall was born in the village of Wem, Shropshire, England, Dec. 26, 1796 and died at Farmersburg, Iowa, Jan. 19, 1895. She was the last survivor of a family of seven, four boys and three girls, all of whom died in this country. Their father, Richard Everall, was a minister of the Congregational Church at Wem. She came to America about 1850 residing near Zanesville, Ohio. From there she removed to Burlington, Ia., then to Delaven, Ill., and about seventeen years ago came to Farmersburg to reside with her brother Richard Everall. She was from youth a consistent member of the Congregational church, always working and toiling for others so long as able. The funeral was held Tuesday Jan. 22, at the M.E. church in Farmersburg, Rev. Stevens conducting the services. The body was laid to rest in the National cemetery. Peace be to her ashes.
