Elkader Register, Thur., 16 Jan. 1902. McGregor column.

Oscar A., second son of Gilbert Nelson and wife, died at the Hospital in Independence Saturday, of typhoid fever. His mother and father were called there but death had come before they arrived, and they returned home with the remains on Sunday night's train. The funeral was held at the Congregational church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. D. C. Dutton officiating. One of our most promising young men only a short time ago, first became ill with mind trouble and now has gone in death leaving a sorrowing mother, father and three brothers.
