EDNA I. Ellis.
The body of Edna Idoline Ellis was brought to Elkader from LaCrosse, Wis., Monday evening for interment. accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Agnes Ellis, Mrs. Edward Lachman, Viva and Georgia, sisters of the deceased, also her friend, Miss Helen Conrad., of LaCrosse.
Edna was the second daughter of Homer and Agnes Ellis was born at Elkader, May 31, 1881, and died Jan. 3, 1902, aged 20 years, 7 months and 2 days. She received her education in the schools of McGregor and LaCrosse. She had been ailing for about four years, since last April has been confined to her bed, a great sufferer. Being ambitious and of a cheerful disposition it was hard for disease to conquer life. She leaves a large circle of friends, but to all the testimony that what was lost to her in this life would be amply repaid in the life into which she has entered.
Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. Baxter officiating.
