Elkader Register, Thur., 06 Feb. 1879. Elkport column.

Mr. Nicholas Schurman, a resident of Volga township, died Jan. 29, 1879, of old age, being 8- years (looks like 81 years). He was buried on Saturday, having survived the partner of his joys and sorrows just one week. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their double bereavement.
