Elkader Register, Thur., 23 Jan. 1879.

DIED - In Volga township, Jan. 19th, Louise, wife of Nicholas Sherman, aged 75 years and _ months (looks like 4 months). She leaves an aged husband, and six grown children.

Note: burial is in St. Michael's Catholic cemetery near Elkport. The surname spelling on gravestone is SCHURMANN
