Owen Growney died May 30, 1899, after an illness of two months. He was 74 years and two months old. He was born in County Meath, Ireland, March 17th, 1825. He came to this country in May 1848, was married in 1853 to Margaret Curtis at Easton, Pa., and came to Iowa in December 1862. He leaves a wife and six children, three sons, Michael, Owen and James, and three daughters, Rose, Marcella and Maggie, one brother James Growney, one sister Mrs. James Quigley, who resides at Wilton, Iowa. The funeral services were held here on Thursday. May he rest in peace.
