Clayton County Register, Thur., 12 Dec. 1929.
Abbie Turner, the daughter of Henry Turner, was born near Monona on May 17, 1875, and departed this life on Nov. 30, at the age of fifty-four years.
She was the youngest of four children, her mother and one sister having preceded her in death.
Miss Turner was a faithful member of of the M.E. church and very active in Sunday School, Epworth League and Aid society. She contributed liberally of her means to the maintenance of the church at home and abroad, and was unusually wise in her leadership in many of these things.
It was not until about six months ago that she was considered seriously ill. Everything possible was done for her to relieve her suffering, but to no avail.
Those left to mourn her passing are her aged father, Henry Turner, two brothers, Jean and Harry; two nieces, Esther Fonda, and Mrs. E. H. Wirkler, both of whom had made their home with her for many years, and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 2, by Rev. L. Joslin, and the sermon delivered by her former pastor and intimate friend for many years the Rev. J. B. Bird, of Grundy Center, Iowa. Interment was made in the Eno cemetery.
