Elkader Register, Thur., 31 Dec. 1925. Guttenberg column.

The death of Mrs. W. E. Moser (nee Josie F. S. Schrunk) one of this community's most highly esteemed residents and most worthy mothers, occurred at her home in Jefferson township on Sunday evening, Dec. 27, at the age of 56 years, 3 months and 12 days, the cause of her death being heart trouble. Deceased was born in Millville township, Clayton county, Iowa, on September 15, 1869, as a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schrunk, where she grew to womanhood. On March 12, 188_, she was united in marriage with Mr. W. E. Moser at Osterdock, Iowa. For many years she has resided on a farm in this township. Mrs. Moser was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister and friend, always ready with heart and hand to do acts of kindness for her family and friends. She was a true Christian woman in every respect, and her memories will be forever cherished by all who knew her. All was done that could be done to save her life, but all failed when the Angel of Death called her to the other better world, where there is no more suffering, but Joy and happiness forever. Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Charles Meyer of Jefferson township, Mrs. Glendon Brockman of Millville township, Mrs. L. R. Gerner of Mason City, Iowa, and Miss Hilda Moser at home; three sons, J. A. and W. L. Moser of Manly, Iowa, and Martin G. Moser at home. A number of grandchildren, several brothers and sisters and numerous other relatives and friends, by whom this good and true woman will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's United Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. L. H. Putz officiating. The body was laid to rest in the City cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, which showed that deceased was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
