Elkader Register, Thur., 03 Dec. 1925. Strawberry Point column.
The death of Mrs. Al McGarvey occurred last Sunday evening after a lingering illness. Besides her husband she leaves one sister, Mrs. John Wandell, of Waterloo, and two brothers, G. W. Smith of Cedar Rapids, and Charles Smith of this place, besides other relatives and friends to mourn her death. Services will occur at the home Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev, Turner.
(Note: WPA records indicate Fannie A Smith McGarvey, 1860 - 30 Nov. 1929, buried in Strawberry Point cemetery. The year of death is apparently miss-transcribed.)
