Clifton Meyer, one of Giard's township's prominent young farmers, died at his home Monday March 16th after a brief illness of pneumonia with complications. Mr. Meyer was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meyer of Giard township and was but thirty-two years of age. His death comes as a distinct shock to the many friends as well as the immediate family. The sympathy of all is with the bereaved ones.
On February 26, 1919, he was united in marriage to Miss Milda Glesne, daughter of Mrs. Anna Glesne of this place, making their home on a farm in Giard township. Four children came to bless their happy home, Carl, Robert, Eileen and a little baby about three weeks old.
He is survived by his wife, his four children, his parents and many other relatives and friends who mourn his early passing.
Funeral services were held this afternoon 1:30 at the home in Giard township and at 2:00 o'clock at the Evangelical church at Elkader. Interment in the East Side cemetery.
