Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 05 Nov. 1897.

Mrs. F. Horn

After a lingering illness the subject of this item passed away Monday at her late residence in Elkader, where she has resided for many years. Three sons, we believe, mourn the loss of mother, the father and one daughter having preceded her to the grave. The funeral was held on Thursday morning from St. Joseph's church.

(Note: WPA records indicate this is Katharina Horn, 1822 - 1897, buried in St. Joseph's cemetery at Elkader.)
