August Skippey, formerly a resident of Strawberry Point, died at the County Home, aged 73 years. He had been at the home for the past 13 years.

Mr. Skibbe died at the County home at Elkader Tuesday. He was a former resident of this place, well known by our people.

The remains were brought here for burial, and the funeral was held from the German Lutheran church this morning, the services conducted by Rev. G. Graf.

He died very suddenly. Failing to come down to breakfast in the morning, some of those present went to his room and found him dead in bed, having passed away in his sleep.

Notes: gravestone in Str Pt. cem. & death is record in Immanuel Lutheran church records give his dates as 6/15/1829 - 3/20/1905. Wife was Fredericka Mai or May per marriage records of their son Gustav & daughter Henrietta
