Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 05 Feb. 1897. Graham column.

One of the saddest events which this neighborhood has experienced for some time occurred in the death of David Gull, Jan. 20th. Mr. Gull was born at Morganstown, West Virginia, May 15, 1826. He has been a resident of this place for the past 45 years and has gained the love and esteem of the people of this and surrounding neighborhoods. During his last illness he exhibited that patience and cheerfulness which mark a consecrated Christian, and though he would have been glad to remain longer on earth, said he was ready to meet death. A wife and ten children are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father.
