Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 05 Feb. 1897. Elkport and Vicinity column.

Ed Flaherty, father of Peter Flaherty, died at the home of his son Sunday morning aged about 8_ years. Old Ned as he was familiarly known has been a resident of Volga twp. for the past 40 years and was well known to everybody that came to Elkport. The funeral took place Tuesday.
