Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Oct. 1900. St. Olaf column.

The sad news reached us early Saturday morning that Lars Mickleson was dead. He had been ill for some time. He was one of the oldest settlers in town and leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock Monday and his remains laid to rest in the Norwegian cemetery.

Note: surname on gravestone in the Norway cemetery is spelled Mickkelson & year of birth 1832
