Anna Martha Maria Baar, fourth daughter of Henry and Sophia Mecklenberger [sic], was born in Barnton, Germany, Sept. 21, 1877 and died at the home of her parents in Highland, Saturday, April 20th 1900, at the age of 22 years, 6 months and 29 days. She came to this country from Germany when about four years of age. Four years ago last fall she was married to Will Baar, who remains together with her parents, brothers and sisters to mourn her early departure. In 1899, while a resident of Volga, she was received into the Methodist church to which she remained a member to the time of her death. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, Rev. Shiffer officiating, preaching both in English and German. The funeral was largely attended and all sympathize with the bereaved ones and especially with the parents who, in the short period of two weeks have laid two to rest.

Note: buried in Hillcrest cemetery near her parents in Lot 51, Henry & Sophia Mecklenburg. Her sister Amelia (Mecklenburg) Ross who died 04/04/1900 is also buried in Lot 51.
