Clayton County Register, Thur., 27 July 1933. Pg. 01.
The body of a man, about 65 years of age, was found in culvert under the railroad track about one-half mile north of N. Buena Vista and the find reported to Sheriff L. J. Palas here.
According to information which the sheriff was able to obtain, this man had been around No. Buena Vista for about a week giving his name as Anthony Smith. He is reported to have worked around Elkader for some time several years ago but no one has any further information as to his identity.
It is thought that he took sick when nearing that point on the railroad track, sought shelter in the culvert and then suffered a heart attack.
