Mrs. Eugene Connor, who died at her home here April 4th, was born, January 5, 1871, in Read township. Her death last Tuesday followed a short illness though she had been in failing health for a number of years. She reached the age of 62 years, two months and 29 days.

On February 14, 1893 she was united in marriage to Eugene Connor and lived on a farm west of Elkader until a few years ago when they moved to Elkader. To this union eight children were born, two girls and one son, preceding the mother in death. She leaves to survive her passing besides her widower, her daughter Mary and son Lester of Elkader; three other daughters, Mrs. Edward Brill, Mrs. Merle Mork and Mrs. Edward Vek, all of Milwaukee, and three brothers, Herman Heins and Lewis Heins of Postville and Geo. Heins of Luana.

Funeral services were held last Friday morning in St. Joseph's church and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery, the Rev. J. P. Taken officiating.
