Mrs. John Himoe, for twenty-eight years a resident of this vicinity, died Saturday, May 14th, at the age of 69 years. Mrs. Hilmoe suffered a stroke of paralysis about three weeks ago, from which she did not rally, and quietly passed into the great beyond at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Jacobs, where she was taken about a week ago and where every tender care was given her.
Annie Estenson Midtevene was born at Haaltdalen, Norway, on January 18th, she was the daughter of Esten and Mary Midtevene. She was united in marriage to John Hilmoe, and they came to this country in 1882 and have since made their home in this city and vicinity. Mrs. Hilmoe was the mother of nine children, four preceded her in death, Johanas, Mary, wife of August Clemens, Ole, and Julia, wife of Sam Moody.
There survive to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother: Mrs. Ed Jacobs of McGregor; Esten Hilmoe, of La Crosse; Sam Hilmoe, Grand Field, S.D.; Ernest, of Portland, Oregon; and John, of this city.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the home of her daughter, Rev. Cleveland, of Ossian, officiating. Interment was made in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
