Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 31 Mar. 1910. National column.

The remains of John McMillan Sr., of Sni Magill, were brought here Friday for burial. The funeral was held at the home of his son Sherman, where he has been making his home. Mr. McMillan was one of the pioneer settlers of Iowa. The sorrowing wife and children have the sympathy of the community. He has three sons living near here, George, Frank and Sherman.

Note: his death certificate & gravestone gives full name of Andrew Jackson McMillin. His gravestone also spells surname as McMillin.
