Taylor Kephart 1848-1908

Taylor Kephart, after a three weeks illness, died at his home Saturday morning, Dec. 9, 1908, at 9 a.m. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1848. In 1869 he was married to Miss Catherine Horsch of Guttenburg, Iowa. In 1875 he and his brother John opened a blacksmith shop there, and later purchased his brother’s interest and has run the shop ever since. Among those out of town who attended the funeral were his brother Jake and wife of Parkersburg, Charley of Fredericksburg, her brother John Horsch and wife of Lincoln, Neb., a nephew, John Kephart and wife of Cedar Rapids and Scott Montgomery of Allison.
