Mrs. Christina Hartman, nee Ritter, died Sunday evening, Jan. 2nd, 1910, at her home in Cox Creek twp., after several weeks illness. She was born Sept. 9th, 1840, in Germany, and with her parents came to the United States in 1853. Later they came to Clayton county. On Sept. 10th, 1859, she was united in marriage with Andreas Hartman. Her husband died several years ago. Deceased is survived by two sons, Otto, of Elkader, and William, on the home farm. A good mother and neighbor is at rest. The funeral was held this afternoon, services being held by Rev. Mr. Franke at the home, the interment being in the family cemetery.
