MRS. CAROLINE RICHARDSON.
Caroline Egbert was born at Dayton, Ohio. Dec, 14, 1826 and died at Independence, Iowa, July 2nd, 1902. In about the year 1847 she was joined in marriage to Col. A. P. Richardson then residing in Indiana. In April, 1856, together, they came to McGregor, then the most enterprising business town in all this section of the state and here in October, 1856, the North Iowa Times was founded by the enterprise and perseverance of her husband.
Mrs. Richardson was a daughter of the Rev. Paul Egbert, who was an early settler at Monona, She was a resident of McGregor until about four years ago when she sold her home and entered the Old Ladies Home at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She lived a beautiful Christian life, was a lady of noble character, a strong and sure aid to her husband in times of shadow as well as sun¬shine, and a fitting mate to a man of such powerful intellect.—North Iowa Times.
