The body of Mrs. Tom Gemmill was brought over from Elkader yesterday morning and buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Gemmill was the widow of Thomas Gemmill, a Civil war veteran and an early resident of McGregor. Mr. Gemmill died a good many years ago. After his death his widow lived for a long time alone in the house just above Fireman's Hall on Ann street. Two years ago she was adjudged insane by the Commissioners and taken to the Hospital for the Insane at Elkader. She died there Monday, April 6.
