Mrs. Luehr, the aged mother of Mrs. Dietrich Essmann, died Sunday and will be buried Tuesday in the city cemetery.

Mrs. Maria Luhr, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dietrich Essmann, near town at the age of 88 years and 11 months, was born in Beizenburg, Mecklenburg, Germany, and was married at her home town to Henry Luhr in 1841, and some time later the couple came to Clayton county and settled down on the now Essmann farm in Jefferson township.

Her husband preceded her to the grave several years ago. The surviving children are Fred W. Luhr, Ashland, Neb., August Luhr, Lime Springs, Iowa, Mrs. Wm. Lemme, in Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Dietrich Essmann. Funeral took place Tuesday last, interment in the City cemetery.
