Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 30 July 1908. Littleport column.
Word was received Sunday forenoon of the death of George Latteyer, who resided at Motor with his father. This was considerable of a shock to his many friends hereabouts as no one knew of his illness, but, upon inquiry it seems he had not been feeling well for some time past. Nervous prostration and rheumatism were given as the cause of his early taking away. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, when a large concourse of friends and neighbors assembled to pay the last sad respects to the dead. He was an exemplary young man and held in high esteem by his numerous friends. He was a member of the Turners at Communia and popular with the fraternity. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved father and mother and members of the family, who will miss him from his accustomed place.
