Rose Marie Welsh (Hunemuller), age 79, of Trenton, Mo., formerly of Guttenberg, IA, died Sunday June 30, 2019, at Luther Manor Grand Meadows Living Center in Dubuque, IA.
She was born the daughter of Donald and Pearl (Bathke) Hunemuller November 8, 1939 in Bremer County, IA.
On June 16, 1956, Rose married William (Bill) Laverne Welsh at the little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. This union blessed the couple with four children. The couple was happily married until Bill’s death in 2012.
Rose worked in various manufacturing positions in Guttenberg which lead her to a Union President position.
Following retirement, the couple moved to Trenton, Mo where Rose was a Board of Director for the Leisure Lake Association and former President of the Board. Rose also was a long-time active member of the VSP Volunteer Society in Trenton.
Rose treasured her time at the lake with all her friends and greatly enjoyed the watching the birds from her deck.
Rose is survived by three children: Bill & Diane Welsh of Cedar Rapids, IA, Don Welsh of Clinton, IA and Duke & Vickie (Welsh) Eppler of Dickeyville, WI; Grandchildren: Brook & Alissa (Welsh) Monica (Houston, TX), Will Welsh (Minneapolis, MN), and Chris Welsh (Cedar Rapids, IA) – children of Bill and Diane Welsh; Nicholas & Theresa Reardon (Guttenberg, IA), Valarie Reardon (Epworth, IA), Matt & Carrie (Eppler) (Algonquin, IL), and JC & Kristi (Eppler) Henry (Dubuque, IA) – children of Vickie & Duke Eppler; Jennifer, Nicole, and Jason Welsh - children of Don Welsh (Dubuque, IA); Great grandchildren: Megan Reardon, Joe Johnson, Alex & Andrue Henry, Katelyn, Justin, & Hunter Foshee, and Brandon Fernandes; Sister: Carolyn Dawson, and many other relatives and friends.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Wendy Welsh, and one sibling, Rebecca Hunemuller.
In lieu of flowers and all other types of sympathy, a Rose Welsh Leisure Lake Memorial Fund has been established.
