James Lawrence Smith was born the son of Ken Smith and Debra (Turner) Luensmann on February 9, 1978 in Grundy Center IA. He passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. James grew up around the Holy Cross area, graduated from the Guttenberg High School in 1996 and was currently employed by the Isle of Capri in Marquette. In his free time James enjoyed camping, go carting, playing games such as dungeons and dragon and he had a talent for drawing. Those left to keep James memory alive are his parents; Deb (Ken) Luensmann of Holy Cross and Ken Smith of Prairie du Chien WI; James fiancé Hilerie, one brother Jason (Kathy) Smith of New Vienna; one step sister Andrea (Jason) Todd of Ft. Benning Georgia; three nephews, Mathew and Anthony Smith and Maddox Todd; paternal grandmother Darlene Smith of Prairie du Chien WI, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. 1st, Guttenberg, IA, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2006. Funeral service will be at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 4, 2006, Rev. Harold McMillin Officiating. Interment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.tueckeallyn.com In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in James memory.

Visitation: Friday 4:00-8:00 P.M. November 03, 2006 at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home Guttenberg, Iowa

Funeral Service: Saturday 10:00 A.M. November 04, 2006 at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home Guttenberg, Iowa

Interment: Guttenberg City Cemetery
