Clayton County Register, Thur., 22 Dec. 1927. Guttenberg column.

The body of Mrs. Smart, who died in Lansing, Michigan, was brought to this city on Thursday and funeral was held in the Masonic Temple. The services were conducted by the O.E.S. at one o'clock. The interment was made in the Garnavillo cemetery. She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Mrs. Sullivan; one son, Elmer, and granddaughter, Francis.

The remains of Mrs. Geo. Smart of Lansing, Mich., were buried in the old cemetery last week. Mrs. Smart was a one time resident of Garnavillo.

Note: Frances Smart, 1848 - 1927, buried in the Old Garnavillo cemetery. The obit of her husband George, names her as Frances Barnes.
