Clayton County Register, Thur., 03 Feb. 1927.

Martha Elizabeth Hansel was born November 3, 1858, and died Jan. 28, 1927, aged 68 years, two months and 25 days.

When quite young she was converted and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church. About four years ago she had her letter transferred to the United Brethern class.

She spent her entire life in this community keeping house for her parents and after their death she continued keeping house for her brother Jake.

Deceased leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Anna Stone of Manchester; James and Jacob Hansel of Osterdock and a large number of nieces and nephews, besides a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral was held at the Bethel church, Rev. Hollingshead officiating. Interment was made in Bethel cemetery.

Note: The date of death in this obit is correct & is confirmed by her death certificate. Her gravestone is incorrectly engraved with a DOD 1926.
