Died - in McGregor, Sept, 28th, Hiram Brown, aged 57 years.
Mr. Brown was a native of New York state and came west in 1873, making McGregor his home, where he has engaged in the harness trade.
His death resulted from blood poison, caused from internal injuries and a broken arm received in the fall from a trussel work near the star switch, noticed by this paper last week.
He leaves a wife, son and two daughters. He was a kind hearted man, a good citizen, highly respected.
During the rebellion he served in the army in a New York regiment; was a brave, gallant and faithful soldier. He was a member of the Masonic order.
The sympathy of the community is with the bereaved family. The funeral occurs at 2 o'clock to-day.

Notes: Burial is in Pleasant Grove cemetery. He has a biography in the 1882 Clayton County history naming his wife as Maria Seymour, but it does not mention CW service.
