Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 4 Sept. 1919. Graham column.

Mrs. Katherine Kauffman passed away at her home two miles south of town on Friday last after a weeks illness. She had a stroke about two years ago and never fully recovered. She leaves a husband and two sons, Irvin and Cyrus at home, and two married daughters Mrs. Henry Grosse and Mrs. Thomas Davis, besides numerous other relatives and friends. We extend our sympathy to the sorrowing family.

Note: maiden name is from death certificate
