Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 23 Jan. 1919. Strawberry Point columns.
The white winged messenger of Death again visited the home of Ralph L. Peck Sunday morning this time taking the infant daughter May Eldora, aged 11 weeks. The wife and mother died Jan. 10, from that dreadful disease pneumonia following an attack of influenza. At the time of her death the family consisting of the husband and two children were in a critical condition. Two nurses from Dubuque and the best medical care was given them but the little one was relieved of all its sufferings Sunday morning. The body was taken to Wyoming, Iowa, Monday morning for burial and where funeral services will occur. Mr. Peck and son are still in a serious condition. The sympathy of all is extended to Mr. Peck in his sorrow.
