Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 June 1913. Strawberry Point column.
Mrs. Louisa Cushing [sic] was born near Bangor, Maine, June 2nd, 1844. When about twelve years old she came with her people to Chicago, then a small town, where they tarried but a short time.
Moving westward, they finally settled near Belvidere, Ill. She was married to Milton Case in 1860 and they came to Iowa in 1873 and settled near Strawberry Point, Iowa, and lived here all the remaining years of her life.
Three children were born to them, Earnest died in infancy, and Huldah Ludy died in 1899. Mrs. Geo. Halsted alone remains of the family.
She departed this life June 7th, 1913, aged 69 years and 5 days. The funeral services were held at the Congregational church, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. van Swearingen.
(Note: WPA records list her as Maria Case, 1844 - 7 June 1913, buried in Strawberry Point Cemetery. The newspaper article clearly states Mrs. Louisa Cushing, but it is unknown if Cushing is her maiden name or a second married name. Milton Case, 1828 - 10 Sep. 1912, is also shown in WPA records as buried in Strawberry Point Cemetery.)

I believe that 'Cushing' is a newspaper error. The Death certificate of her daughter Ella (Case) Halsted gives her maiden name as Robison or Robinson. The obit of Milton Case names her as Miss Maria Robinson.
