Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 6 Feb. 1913. Monona column.

Grandma Massey passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John H. Tapper, Tuesday afternoon, at the age of nearly 98 years. Funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the M.E. church.

(Note: An apparent reference to Emma Massey, 97y - 28 Jan. 1913, shown in WPA records as buried in Monona cemetery.)
