Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 Dec. 1907.
Mary Margaret Regan, little daughter of Michael and Katherine Regan, was born at Elkader, Iowa, October 8th, 1897, and her death occurred December 6th, 1907. She received her first Holy Communion on Nov. 12th. She had a beautiful mind, which made her a splendid companion, and placed her at the head of her classes at school. Her education in music and arts was far beyond the average of her age. She was loved by everyone without exception. In the long struggle against the advances of an insidious and mortal disease she did not falter nor complain. Her brief existence will ever be a blessing and a bright spot in the memory of her family and friends. Her death came while life was yet a happy dream, before the beginning of the cares, sorrow and deceits of added age.
The funeral was from St. Joseph's church, Monday, December 9th. Rev. Father Reilly celebrated the requiem mass. There were banks of beautiful flowers from many friends in token of their loving remembrance of the little one who has gone, and their heartfelt sympathy for the loved ones left to mourn.
