Johannah Haggerty was born in County Kerry, Ireland, in 1828, and came to this country in 1887, settling in Giard township where she has since resided. In 1857 she was united in marriage to Patrick Doody, with whom she has traveled down life's pathway for over half a century. Seven children were born to this union, two dying in infancy, the remaining are: William, of Idaho; Daniel, of Giard twp.; Mrs. Katherine Blackburn, of Cresco; Patrick, at home; and Mrs. Briget Timerick, of Giard twp., who with the aged father and thirteen grandchildren, mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother.
Mrs. Doody has been a patient sufferer from cancer for the past year and a half, bearing her affliction with fortitude, placing her faith in the divine ruler, into whose keeping she passed, Thursday, Nov. 7. Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church Saturday Nov. 9, Rev. Father Hogan officiating. Burial in the Catholic cemetery.
Those out of tow in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Blackburn of Cresco, Wm. Doody of Janesville, Wis., and Patrick Donahue of Eagle, Wis.
