A telegram received here Wednesday announced the sad but not entirely unexpected news of the death of Pearl Mahr, at Chicago, about 7:00 o'clock that morning. Pearl, the only daughter of Mrs. Daniel Mahr, was about seventeen years old. She was an unusually attractive young lady and had drawn to herself a large circle of friends who regret that disease has thus early cut off her apparently bright life. Pearl's earthly remains were brought to Elkader this noon, accompanied by friends. Mrs. Mahr was not able to come. The funeral will be held Friday morning about 10:00 o'clock from the residence of J. K. Molumby in the Molumby block. Our entire community sympathizes with the afflicted family.
