Paul Leroy Morse, son of Ernst L. Morse and Carrie Morse, was born Feb. 2nd, 1898, near Volga, Iowa, and died in Dubuque Feb. 2_th (looks like 28), 1907. He was a very bright child and well liked by all his playmates. He lived in Volga until last March when he moved to Dubuque. He was sick three weeks and a great sufferer. The body was brought to Volga on Saturday. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church and buried in the Volga cemetery. Rev. Martin of the 3rd Presbyterian church in Dubuque accompanied the family and preached the sermon. His classmates and roommates of the Volga school met them at the depot and escorted the body to the church. Before closing the casket each of his classmates deposited a white rose in the casket and then the roommates marched by and took the last look at their former playmate.
